Northen Tablelands of NSW - New England Region
   
 
  The Northern Tablelands is a plateau and a region of the Great Dividing Range in northern New South Wales, Australia. It is the narrow highlands area of the New England region, stretching from the Moonbi Range in the south to the Queensland border in the north. This region includes substantial areas more than 800m above sea-level, with a cold climate, distinctive vegetation and a characteristic granite landscape.

General Meetings
  General Meetings are held on the third Tuesday of the month in the Armidale Tree Group's "Woodland Centre" in Mann Street. After a short business meeting and discussion of plants from the plant display, a guest speaker presents a topic of interest. See Photo Gallery and Calendar of Events for details.

Social activities are organized for the Winter Solstice and before the Christmas break.

In Retrospect...
  Over thirty members and friends celebrated 30 years of the Armidale and District Group at Barbara and John Nevin’s on the occasion of the Solstice Function, 23rd of June 2007.

Maria Hitchcock had searched her memory and the archives to put together a very interesting and amusing talk about the history of the group which she illustrated with photos from the past. She facilitated a lively discussion with reminiscences from Warren Sheather, Beth Williams and others.

Subsequently, in an article entitled "Australian Plants Society Armidale: the first year" she wrote:
