Community Web Mapping Portal
Armidale is located on the Northern Tablelands of NSW which is part of the Great Eastern Ranges.
The Great Eastern Ranges stretch from the Australian Alps in New South Wales and Victoria to the Atherton Tablelands in Queensland, and beyond. They are the mountainous ranges and escarpments of eastern Australia–including the Great Dividing Range and the Great Escarpment–separating Australia's eastern coastal fringe from the plains and the interior.
They are part of us.
You can help conserve the biodiversity of the Great Eastern Ranges by recording your own observations on the
Community Web Mapping Portal.
This is a mapping tool. Anyone can register. Once registered, you can record the details of something you have observed, eg. native plants, native animals, pests and weeds or conservation works.
The mapping tool uses the Google Maps background.
Each of us can help conserve the biodiversity of the Great Eastern Ranges by recording our own observations.
Every little bit helps to fill in the big picture.
Please take a little time to explore this facility. Once you’re familiar with it, it will become a tool that you can use often.
Have a go! Add some observations from your backyard or from your last bush walk – its lots of fun!
